A 60-year-old man was critically injured after being struck by a tram near the Boltensternstraße stop in Cologne on Friday evening.
The man reportedly stepped onto the tracks for unknown reasons, and the tram driver was unable to stop despite initiating an emergency brake.
The tram driver, who was left in shock, was also taken to the hospital following the incident.
In a separate case, police are searching for a suspect who allegedly pushed a 55-year-old man onto tram tracks on Thursday, though the victim sustained only minor injuries.
The suspect in the pushing incident, described as a roughly 35-year-old man with an unkempt appearance, fled the scene and remains at large, prompting a police investigation and a call for witnesses.
