Two Teens, Two Men Charged With Murder in Bronx Park Shooting That Killed 1, Hurt 4

Police say the Haffen Park attack during a basketball tournament appears tied to gang violence, with witnesses sought as the investigation continues.

A 32yr old man was pronounced dead at Jacobi Hospital after he was shot in the chest whilst inside of Haffen Park near Burke Avenue and Wickham Avenue in the Bronx on Saturday Aug. 23, 2025. 1927. A 17yr old girl with a gunshot wound to the face was rushed to Jacobi Hospital in critical condition. Three more people were shot at the same location; A 30yr old man with a gunshot wound to the back and a 29yr old woman with a gunshot wound to the back were both taken by private means to Jacobi Hospital, whilst a 42yr old man was taken by private means to Montefiore Hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm.   • Jaceil Banks, 32, was fatally shot and 17-year-old bystander Anthonaya Campbell remains in critical condition, while three other adults were treated for non-life-threatening wounds.
  • Police describe multiple shooters and say the case appears gang-related, and they continue to seek information as the Bronx also saw other shootings that night.
