Overview

• Police arrested two boys, aged 16 and 17, on Sept 26 for suspected mischief by fire in connection with the Ang Mo Kio incident.
• The blaze broke out around 8.25pm on Sept 25 at Block 510 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8 and was extinguished by SCDF firefighters.
• About 90 residents were evacuated as a precaution, and 11 people aged 18 months to 85 were taken to hospital for smoke inhalation.
• SCDF said the fire involved a personal mobility aid and bicycles at the seventh-floor lift lobby near the central staircase, and the cause remains under investigation.
• MP Nadia Ahmad Samdin reported no fatalities or damage to flats, and the town council is set to begin cleaning once SCDF gives the go-ahead.
