Two Teenagers Charged in Death of Eritrean Refugee Amen Teklay, 15, in Glasgow

A vigil was held to honor the life of Amen Teklay, as a 14-year-old boy faces court and investigations continue into the fatal incident.

Amen Teklay, a 15-year-old Eritrean refugee and promising student, died from fatal injuries on Wednesday night in Glasgow's St George’s Cross area.
Two boys, aged 14 and 15, were arrested in connection with Amen's death; the 14-year-old has been charged and will appear in Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.
Amen's family, who have lived in Glasgow for eight years, described him as kind, bright, and ambitious, with aspirations of becoming a doctor, engineer, or basketball player.
A vigil was held in Scotstoun's Danes Drive Park, attended by over 100 people, including Amen's family and friends, to honor his memory and support the community.
Police Scotland continues its investigation and urges anyone with relevant information to come forward while providing support to Amen's grieving family.
