Overview

• Police say a liquid thrown during a fight between groups of boys on October 1 was confirmed to be a corrosive substance.
• The incident occurred around 4:30–4:40pm near Walthamstow High Street and Stainforth Road in east London.
• London Ambulance Service checked three people at the scene and took two to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, supported by its Hazardous Area Response Team.
• Two 17-year-olds have been charged with attempted grievous bodily harm, possession of a bladed article, possession of a corrosive substance and affray, with a court appearance scheduled at Stratford Magistrates' Youth Court today.
• A third teenage suspect has been bailed pending further inquiries, and police are appealing for information via 101 quoting CAD 5267/01OCT as local officials promise visible reassurance in the area.
