Two Suspects Sought After Grenade Attack Injures Assam Police in Bokakhat

  • On June 24 at around 8:20 pm two motorcycle-borne assailants lobbed a grenade at the 11th Battalion Assam Police camp in Panbari, Bokakhat, injuring three officers.
  • The injured personnel—Siddhartha Borbora, Sushil Bhumij and Mintu Hazarika—are being treated at Shahid Kamal Miri Civil Hospital and have been reported as out of danger.
  • Authorities have identified two suspects believed to be involved in the attack but both remain at large as police conduct an intensive manhunt.
  • Checkpoints have been set up across Bokakhat and surrounding areas to restrict movement and aid in the search for the perpetrators.
  • Officials suspect the assault was retaliation for recent anti-poaching operations that resulted in over 50 arrests and the seizure of 11 illegal firearms.
