Two Suspects Served Custody Orders in Milan Tram Assault on Visually Impaired Man

The custody order follows a month-long investigation identifying two inmates already jailed on a separate case.

Overview

  • Two Moroccan men aged 29 and 42 were placed in court-ordered pretrial detention on aggravated robbery charges in concorso.
  • Police notified the measures at Milan’s Francesco di Cataldo prison, where the pair had been held since August 15 for resisting officers after fleeing on a stolen scooter.
  • The attack occurred on August 12 on Tram 15 near the Missaglia–Feraboli stop, where the 55-year-old was beaten, forced off the vehicle, and robbed of assistive devices worth about €2,000.
  • The victim was treated at Humanitas in Rozzano and discharged with a seven-day prognosis, later reporting that fellow passengers did not intervene.
  • The Falchi unit of the Milan police identified the suspects under the coordination of Milan prosecutors following approximately one month of inquiries.
