Two Suspects Charged in Fatal Grapevine Lake Jet Ski Hit-and-Run That Killed Air Force Cadet Candidate

  • Ava Moore, 18, graduated from the Air Force Academy Preparatory School on May 19 and was kayaking at Grapevine Lake on May 25 when a speeding jet ski struck her, inflicting fatal head trauma.
  • Daikerlyn Alejandra Gonzalez Gonzalez, 21, was arrested May 27 at a Dallas residence and booked for second-degree felony manslaughter after authorities said her reckless operation of the jet ski led to Moore’s death.
  • Maikel Coello Perozo, also 21, was taken into custody alongside Gonzalez and faces misdemeanor counts of collision involving damage to a vehicle and hindering apprehension for driving Gonzalez away from the crash scene.
