Overview

  • Two Surrey residents were arrested on July 3 for firearms, arson and extortion offences tied to a series of threats and attacks on South Asian businesses from late 2023 through summer 2024.
  • The suspects remain in custody pending Crown prosecutors’ review of a report compiled by the task force.
  • The Joint Force Operation, formed in early 2025, has united RCMP federal, provincial and municipal investigators with Abbotsford Police and a Surrey Police crime analyst.
