• On July 7, two Year Nine boys from Horndean Technology College died in separate off-campus incidents, one in a pedestrian crash with a trailer-towing vehicle and the other under undetermined circumstances.
• Hampshire Police arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs in connection with the pedestrian crash and released him pending further inquiries.
• Investigators have yet to determine the cause of the second pupil’s death and continue to gather evidence through forensic and coronial processes.
• Headteacher Julie Summerfield described both students as valued members of the school and confirmed that families and classmates are receiving dedicated counselling and support.
• Local clergy and college officials have set up prayer trees, quiet reflection spaces and planned memorial services to help the community grieve.
