Two Srinagar Residents Chargesheeted Over Amarnath Yatra Drone Breach

Police say forensic analysis of the seized drone’s flight data identified the operators, leading to arrests and formal filing of the case.

  • Under SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal’s directions, a specialised team and the FSL retrieved operational logs that linked the device to two individuals.
  • The accused were identified as Owais Muneer Khan of Sanat Nagar and Farooz Ahmad Nengroo of Munawarabad, Khanyar, both of Srinagar, police said.
  • Officials reiterated that the Yatra route was designated a No Drone Zone under MHA guidelines and framed the case as part of a zero-tolerance security posture.
