Two South Florida Police Shootings — Two Miami Officers Wounded, West Palm Beach Suspect Held Without Bond

  • Miami police responded to a ShotSpotter alert reporting multiple rounds on Northwest 26th Street around 7:45 a.m. Thursday.
  • A male and a female Miami officer were shot in the legs and taken to Jackson Memorial’s Ryder Trauma Center, where both are expected to be OK.

  • In West Palm Beach, 22-year-old Emmanuel Keevon Dashawn McRae was charged with two counts of attempted murder of law-enforcement officers and ordered held with no bond.
  • WPBPD says the wounded officer is expected to fully recover, with body-camera and ShotSpotter evidence describing at least 22 rounds as ballistics determine whose bullet struck him.
