Overview

• Police said the firefight broke out around 12:30 a.m. in the Kedal area under Manatu Police Station limits of Palamu district.
• Officials identified the attackers as members of the banned Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee, a splinter of the CPI (Maoist).
• Two security personnel died and one was injured, with the wounded admitted to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital, according to Palamu DIG Naushad Alam.
• In a separate development, 20 Naxalites surrendered in Sukma, including 11 carrying a combined bounty of Rs 33 lakh and nine women cadres.
• Police said the surrenderees cited disillusionment and internal rifts, were influenced by rehabilitation and development schemes, and received Rs 50,000 each for immediate assistance.
