Two PREPAK Women Arrested in Manipur Over Abduction of Three Minors

Overview

• Security forces made the arrests on January 5 at Khangabok in Thoubal district, identifying the suspects as Khundrakpam alias Ningthoujam Roshidiya, 24, and Lisham alias Bidya, 30.
• The children were taken from Kakching Khunou Ngaikhong Leikai and later traced to Uchiwa Awang Leikai in Imphal West, where they were rescued and returned to their parents.
• Police said preliminary findings indicate the minors were targeted for recruitment into the proscribed People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak.
• Investigators recovered a white Maruti 800 bearing registration number MN06-1329 that was allegedly used in the abduction.
