Two Police Officers Among Three Seriously Injured in A30 Crash Near Hayle Involving Police Vehicle

  • Emergency services were called just before 8pm on December 7 to a three-vehicle collision between Roseworthy and Marsh Lane near Hayle.
  • Three men, including two Devon and Cornwall Police officers, were taken to hospital with serious injuries and their families were informed.
  • A full closure was implemented at St Erth roundabout and the Hayle bypass as responders worked at the scene.
  • Part of the A30 remained shut for roughly 11 hours for investigation before reopening on Monday morning.
  • The IOPC will assess the incident after requesting a paper referral, and police have appealed for witnesses quoting log 701 via the website or by calling 101.
