The driver of the Suburban remained at the scene to assist with the investigation, which is ongoing.
A 34-year-old man from Thornton was killed in a hit-and-run on Interstate 225 near Highway 83 in Arapahoe County.
The driver of a Ford Econoline involved in the hit-and-run fled the scene on foot, leaving the vehicle abandoned.
Colorado State Patrol is investigating both incidents and seeking public assistance for information related to the hit-and-run.
