Overview

• The crash happened shortly before midnight Friday near Exit 85 when an Infiniti veered from the left lane, struck a guardrail, rolled over, and went down a steep embankment.
• Passengers Joshua Gonzalez, 25, and Edwin Guzman, 21, were transported to Hartford Hospital and pronounced dead.
• The driver, Alexis Garcia, 22, of Springfield, Massachusetts, was arrested after police said he failed a standardized field sobriety test.
• Garcia reported minor injuries, refused medical treatment, was booked at Troop H, and is being held on a $250,000 cash/surety bond with a Monday court date in New Britain.
