Overview

• The collision happened just after 12:15pm on the A66 westbound at the Cargo Fleet Lane/Middlesbrough Road roundabout.
• Cleveland Police said a marked police van collided with a panel van towing a trailer.
• North East Ambulance Service treated three patients at the scene, with one self-presenting with minor injuries and two taken to hospital.
• The westbound carriageway was closed with a diversion along Middlesbrough Road and was reported reopened shortly after 3pm.
• Two ambulance crews, a clinical team leader, Cleveland Police and Cleveland Fire Brigade attended, and images showed heavy front-end damage to the police van.
