Two Off-Duty Firefighters Die After Falling into Manure Tanker in Upstate New York

The men were attempting to retrieve equipment when they were overcome by toxic fumes at Champion Farm.

  • Nathan Doody, 33, and Tyler Memory, 29, were identified as the victims.
  • Both men were volunteer firefighters with extensive service records.
  • They were working as manure truck drivers at the time of the incident.
  • Methane and other gases from the manure tanker caused them to pass out.
  • Emergency responders transported them to a hospital where they were pronounced dead.
