Two More Indicted as Accessories in Tennessee Quadruple Murder Case, Bringing Total to Five

Prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty in the case.

Overview

  • Eric Wise Jr., 26, and Michell Ovelis, 31, were indicted Tuesday on accessory-after-the-fact charges and booked into the Madison County Jail, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
  • The new indictments bring to five the number of people accused of helping Austin Robert Drummond, joining Tanaka Brown, Giovontie Thomas, and Dearrah Sanders, who are alleged to have provided shelter, phones, and rides.
  • Investigators have not released details on how Wise and Ovelis allegedly assisted Drummond during the search.
  • Drummond has pleaded not guilty to four counts of first-degree murder, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday in Lake County.
  • Authorities say the victims—Adrianna Williams, Braydon Williams, James M. Wilson, and Cortney Rose—were found shot near Tiptonville after a 7-month-old was left in a Tigrett front yard, and the killings are believed to have been targeted.
