Two Missouri Teens Killed in Crash During Police Chase Involving Kidnapping Suspect

The teenagers were on their way to a Billie Eilish concert when a wrong-way driver fleeing police collided with their car, leaving two dead and one seriously injured.

Lucy Yeates and Kole Cunningham, both 18, were killed in a multi-vehicle crash caused by a suspect fleeing police on Interstate 29 near the Iowa-Missouri border.
The suspect, a 29-year-old man accused of kidnapping a 1-year-old child, was driving the wrong way at high speeds when he struck the teens' car head-on.
Lucy’s twin sister, Aubrey Yeates, survived the crash with severe injuries and is currently hospitalized, undergoing extensive medical treatment.
The suspect, who also died in the crash, had been pursued by Iowa and Missouri law enforcement after reportedly abducting the child and leaving the child’s mother at a hospital.
Singer Billie Eilish expressed condolences to the victims’ families after learning the teens were traveling to her Omaha concert, calling the incident 'heartbreaking.'
