Overview
- Two men in their 20s were found with gunshot wounds on Pottery Lane, next to Stadt Moers Park, at about 2.50pm on Sunday and were flown to hospital by air ambulance.
- Merseyside Police say both victims remain in hospital in a stable condition with their injuries improving.
- Detectives believe the attack was targeted and now think the men were shot in the park and later found on Pottery Lane.
- Officers have established wide cordons, carried out house-to-house visits, collected CCTV and forensic evidence, deployed a mobile police station and introduced a 24-hour stop-and-search order in the area.
- Police have asked anyone with CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage or information to contact Merseyside Police or Crimestoppers quoting incident reference 572 as a visible presence continues to reassure the community.
