Overview
- Officers responding about 12:40 p.m. Sunday to Reuel Court in the Bayview found an unconscious man with multiple apparent gunshot wounds who was declared dead at the scene.
- About 1 a.m. Saturday police found a man suffering a gunshot wound near the Warfield Theater in Union Square; first responders took him to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
- San Francisco homicide detectives have taken the lead on the Bayview investigation and the SFPD says it is investigating both deaths with no reported arrests so far.
- Authorities have withheld both victims’ names pending notification of next of kin and have asked anyone with information to call 415-575-4444 or text tips to TIP411.
- The two killings occurred in different parts of the city—one in a downtown commercial district and one in a residential Bayview block—which has prompted police outreach for community tips and could affect local patrol and public safety messaging.
