Two Men Jailed for Smuggling £42m Worth of Cocaine into UK
The National Crime Agency intercepted over 500kg of high-purity cocaine brought ashore in East Yorkshire using an inflatable boat.
- Mark Moran, 23, and Daniel Livingstone, 25, were sentenced to 15 years and 7 years 9 months respectively for their roles in the smuggling operation.
- The operation involved transporting 524kg of cocaine, valued at £42m, from the North Sea to a beach near Easington caravan park in East Yorkshire.
- The cocaine, with a purity of 86-89%, was found in a van outside a hotel where the men were staying after unloading it from the boat.
- Colombian national Didier Tordecilla Reyes, who also participated in the smuggling, has pleaded guilty and will be sentenced at a later date.
- The National Crime Agency, working with Humberside Police and Border Force, disrupted the gang, preventing the drugs from being sold across UK communities.
