Two Men Convicted Over London Grindr Burglary-Fraud Spree

Specialist Met detectives linked the pair to 35 break-ins using CCTV, ANPR plus phone records, with sentencing to follow.

Overview

  • Rahmat Khan Mohammadi, 22, and Mohammed Bilal Hotak, 21, were found guilty of burglary, fraud and theft at Isleworth Crown Court on 4 November.
  • Offences targeted 22 victims between October 2024 and March 2025 after contacts were initiated on Grindr and meetings arranged at victims’ homes.
  • The pair obtained phone passcodes through distraction, stole devices and valuables, then used personal data to move money or make payments.
  • Investigators trawled hundreds of hours of CCTV, checked ANPR hits and analysed thousands of messages to link the men to 35 burglaries and 20 related frauds.
  • The Met highlighted support from its LGBT+ Advisory Group and charity Galop during the case, and said sentencing will take place at Isleworth at a later date.
