Overview
- Victoria Police charged two Donnybrook men, aged 19 and 20, with murder after they were arrested in Deer Park following an overnight Homicide Squad interview.
- A 19-year-old woman from Lalor who was arrested with them has been released without charge pending further inquiries.
- The 22-year-old victim, plumber Daniel Hussein, was shot in the chest in the HR Uren Reserve car park on Sunday evening and died at the scene while friends and family tried to help.
- Police say the shooting followed an earlier confrontation between two groups that began in the Melbourne CBD and that Hussein told relatives he believed a black Porsche was following him minutes before the attack.
- Investigators say the probe is ongoing, they have urged anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, and they do not believe this incident is linked to separate August shootings in Altona and Altona North.
