Overview
- Kent Police charged Albert Matraxhiu, 28, with death by dangerous driving and Erald Paci, 29, with perverting the course of justice.
- The force said both men are Albanian nationals and are due in court on Friday.
- The incident occurred around 12:10pm on Monday 29 December on the A289 Gads Hill in Gillingham and involved a grey Mercedes estate.
- The victim, a man in his 80s, was found on Grange Road up to about a mile from where he was struck, according to police and local reports.
- Police located the vehicle nearby and said its two occupants fled on foot, as a major response brought more than 20 emergency vehicles, an air ambulance and a police helicopter.
