Overview

• On December 21, 2024, two suspects ambushed a 38-year-old man outside his Sonnenallee apartment in Neukölln to steal a carton of cannabis.
• The victim fell down a stairwell during the robbery attempt and died of head injuries in hospital two days later.
• Berlin prosecutors have indicted both suspects on charges of robbery resulting in death.
• The 29-year-old suspect fled to the Dominican Republic, was deported in April and arrested at Frankfurt Airport under an outstanding warrant.
• Investigations are ongoing into three other individuals suspected of aiding in the fatal robbery.
