- Nottinghamshire Police’s Operation Perth arrested two men, aged 55 and 59, on Monday on suspicion of misconduct in public office after detectives identified alleged breaches in mortuary operating practices.

- Officers have contacted families already identified as directly affected and offered support and a point of contact as the investigation continues.
- NUH runs mortuary services at Queen’s Medical Centre and Nottingham City Hospital under a licence from the Human Tissue Authority, and those services are now under parallel criminal and regulatory scrutiny.
- The arrests add to existing inquiries into Nottingham University Hospitals, coming before the Ockenden review due June 24 and alongside a corporate manslaughter probe and professional regulator investigations.
