  • Koen faces several federal charges including assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers, destruction of government property, and obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder. Additionally, Koen faces four misdemeanors in connection with the riot.
  • Lewis also faces federal felony charges such as assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers and obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder. Lewis was identified through multiple anonymous tips after the FBI released images from the Capitol riots.
  • More than 1,200 people have so far been charged with federal crimes related to the Capitol riot, and over 700 individuals have been sentenced, with imprisonments ranging from three days up to 22 years according to court documents.
  • Investigators allege that Koen smashed a glass door with a flagpole, assaulted officers, and removed bicycle rack barriers, allowing more rioters to breach the police line. Lewis, on the other hand, is accused of using wasp spray against officers and breaking windows with a baton.
