Two Killed in Separate Tuscaloosa Crashes Over 12 Hours

- Shortly after 4:15 p.m. Saturday, a 19-year-old from Tallapoosa County was struck while crossing Jack Warner Parkway at Queen City Avenue near the River Market.
- She was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center and died from her injuries, and the 40-year-old Tuscaloosa driver stopped and spoke with officers.
- Police reported no suspected foul play in the pedestrian case as the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit began a follow-up investigation.
- Around 2 a.m. Sunday on I-359, a 21-year-old Tuscaloosa woman died after an initial wreck was followed by a second crash involving five vehicles that struck both drivers from the first collision.
- Five others were hospitalized with injuries described as not life-threatening, and the Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating with assistance from Northport police.
