Two Killed in Route 4 Crash in Livermore After Vehicle Hits Poles and Tree

Deputies had ended a high-speed pursuit shortly before discovering the wreck.

  • Both occupants were ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene, and their names are being withheld pending family notification.
  • A deputy had observed a dark vehicle exceeding 100 mph and terminated an attempted pursuit before coming upon the crash, and any connection remains under investigation.
  • Federal Road was closed for about six hours and reopened around 4:50 a.m. after Central Maine Power replaced a broken pole and repaired downed lines.
  • The Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office is investigating with assistance from a Lewiston Police crash reconstructionist and Livermore and Turner fire departments.
