Federal investigators have opened an inquiry following identification of the aircraft as a Beech King Air C90.

Overview

  • Authorities said the twin‑engine plane went down around 1:30 p.m. in the 12000–12700 block of N. Saginaw Boulevard near Hicks Airfield, striking parked semitrucks and trailers and triggering a large fire.
  • Firefighters from multiple agencies contained the blaze within about 35–40 minutes, with at least 10 trailers and a nearby commercial building damaged and temporary road closures reported.
  • Two people were pronounced dead at the scene, and officials have not released their identities or confirmed how many people were on board.
  • The FAA is leading the investigation with the NTSB, which identified the aircraft as a Beechcraft King Air C90 and is collecting surveillance and witness footage.
  • A Hicks Airfield representative said the aircraft was not based at the private strip, and the Fort Worth Fire Department said the plane had departed Alliance Airport.
