  • Noida Police arrested Bharat24 anchor Shazia Nisar and Amar Ujala digital journalist Adarsh Jha on June 10 for allegedly demanding ₹65 crore by threatening to file fabricated sexual harassment and rape claims.
  • Officers seized ₹34.5 lakh in cash, three mobile phones, two laptops and a Scorpio vehicle during a raid on Nisar’s residence as part of the evidence collection.
  • Three FIRs were lodged by Bharat24’s managing director Jagdish Chandra, consulting editor Anita Hada and HR head Anu Sridhar accusing the duo of blackmail, extortion and intimidation.
  • A Gautam Buddha Nagar court sent both accused to 14 days of judicial custody through June 21 to allow police to conduct further interrogations and gather additional evidence.
  • Investigators have named Nisar’s mother in one of the FIRs and are probing whether other individuals were involved in the alleged extortion syndicate.
