Flames broke out around 11:15 p.m. Sunday in a four-unit building on the 3700 block of Tuam Street, according to the Houston Fire Department. Firefighters found heavy fire on the second floor and contained it in about 15 minutes, officials said. One person was taken to a hospital and another was evaluated by EMS, with no conditions released. HFD said the blaze began in one of two second-floor apartments and damaged both units on that level. Neighbors reported a resident may have set the fire, surveillance reportedly captured a suspect, and the HFD Arson Bureau is investigating as the American Red Cross assists displaced occupants.
