Overview
- Around 1:40 a.m., officers stopped a driver in the 4700 block of Tidwell Road, learned he had a felony warrant, used a Taser during a struggle, and an officer then fired, leaving the driver in critical condition.
- Two passengers in the Tidwell vehicle were not injured, and police have not released the driver's identity.
- About 2:30 p.m. on Wayne Street in the Fifth Ward, officers responding to a report of a suspicious person with a weapon say a man raised a weapon and ignored commands, and he was shot and died at the scene.
- Both incidents are being investigated by HPD's Homicide Unit and Internal Affairs as well as the Harris County District Attorney's Office, with identities and additional details withheld pending the probes.
