Overview

• Ajay Vijay Yadav (45) and Bharat Gajanan Sanke (37) were arrested on July 17 for attempting to smash and steal cash from a nationalised bank ATM in Virar.
• Investigators recovered a grinder machine, gas blow torch, cutter blade, hand gloves, mask, bag and raincoat from the suspects’ possession.
• Bolinj police filed an FIR on July 18 under sections 305 (theft), 62 (attempt to commit life-sentence offences) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
• Sameer Mahadev Jadhav was detained on July 18 in connection with the April 20 abduction and robbery near Uplat-Kalbatpada that left a motorist robbed of gold and dumped on the Kalyan bypass.
• Officers continue to search for the third accused who remains at large in the kidnapping-robbery case.
