Two Gogi Gang Suspects Held After Gurugram Shootout in Najafgarh Witness Killing

Police plan formal arrest after hospital discharge under a newly registered BNS attempt-to-murder case.

Overview

  • A joint Delhi Police Special Cell and Gurugram Crime Branch team intercepted Mohit Jakhad, 29, and Jatin Rajput, 21, near Dhankot/Rajendra Park before dawn, and both were shot in the legs and detained.
  • Police say the duo fired six rounds, injuring sub-inspector Vikas in the arm as another round hit head constable Narpat’s bulletproof vest, before officers returned fire.
  • Two pistols, four live and 13 empty cartridges, and a stolen motorcycle were recovered, and all injured were taken to Gurugram’s Sector-10 Civil Hospital.
  • Investigators say the pair are wanted for the July 4 killing of Neeraj Tehlan, a key witness in a February 2024 Najafgarh salon double murder, and are alleged Gogi gang operatives.
  • Police attribute the killing to a plot by gangster Sanjeev alias Sanju Dahiya and say the suspects confessed during questioning, with a reward of ₹50,000 announced on each.
