Two Girls, 7 and 8, Killed by Train Near Delhi’s Nangloi as Protest Briefly Halts Services

Residents now press for safer access after alleging a new wall blocked usual routes.

  • The victims were identified as Ronak Khatoon, 7, and Sahista (also reported as Sahista Parveen), 8, who were returning home from school in the Prem Nagar area.
  • An estimated 500–700 locals gathered and blocked the line after the crash, delaying trains until Delhi Police and the Government Railway Police dispersed the crowd and restored movement.
  • DCP-level officers responded at the site, and authorities reported that services later returned to normal after law-and-order measures.
  • Bodies were sent for post-mortem as GRP and local police opened legal formalities, while residents alleged a recently built eight-foot wall forced pedestrians onto the tracks and demanded its removal.
