Two Florida Deputies Killed, One Critically Injured in Highway Crash

Corporal Luis Paez and Deputy Sheriff Ralph 'Butch' Waller were killed, while Deputy Ignacio 'Dan' Diaz remains in critical but stable condition after undergoing surgery.
The deputies were assisting with a stalled motorcycle on the grassy shoulder of the road when an SUV veered off the highway and struck them.
Sheriff Ric Bradshaw stated that the driver of the SUV was not impaired, and the preliminary investigation suggests the crash was caused by overcompensation while attempting to avoid another vehicle.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and Florida Highway Patrol are investigating the incident, and a funeral for the fallen deputies is expected next week.
