Two Fatal Overnight Shootings Reported in Chicago Neighborhoods

Separate incidents in Woodlawn and South Chicago leave two men dead and a woman critically injured, with one suspect in custody.

A 23-year-old man was fatally shot, and a 23-year-old woman critically injured, inside a residence in the Woodlawn neighborhood early Saturday morning.
The woman sustained gunshot wounds to the face and neck and remains in critical condition at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
In a separate incident in South Chicago, a 24-year-old man was shot in the stomach and later pronounced dead at UChicago Medicine.
One person has been taken into custody in connection with the South Chicago shooting, with charges pending, according to police.
Both incidents remain under investigation, with no suspects currently identified in the Woodlawn shooting.
