Overview

• Officers first responded around 4:30 a.m. to Coke Street near Poole Road, where a man shot multiple times had non-life-threatening injuries.
• A second call came around 6 a.m. to the 1600 block of Poole Road near Fisher Street, and a man with multiple gunshot wounds was hospitalized in life-threatening condition.
• Police scanner traffic from the second scene reported a gunshot wound to the head and the victim unconscious.
• Poole Road was closed between Raleigh Boulevard and Fisher Street during the investigation and remained shut at 7:30 a.m.
• The first scene cleared by about 6:30 a.m., and no suspects were in custody as the investigation continued.
