Overview

• Officers responded around 1:20–1:30 a.m. to the Rivercenter Parking Garage rooftop, where an altercation between two groups escalated after a firearm was drawn.
• A man died at the scene, an 18-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition, and a 16-year-old boy sustained a graze wound and was treated on site.
• SAPD detained multiple people, recovered a firearm, and identified three male suspects ages 18, 16, and 17, though no arrests have been announced.
• Separately, just before 8 a.m., a 35-year-old man was shot during an argument at a West Side apartment complex, was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center, and was later pronounced dead.
• SWAT and Hostage Negotiation teams cleared a reported apartment near West Martin Street and North San Jacinto Street but did not locate the alleged shooter, who remains at large.
