Overview

• Emergency services responded about 10am to Charles Hackett Drive near the Great Western Highway in Sydney's west.
• A woman in her 70s suffered ear, arm and neck injuries; a man in his 50s had face and arm injuries; a man in his 30s suffered arm injuries.
• Police said an officer was hurt while trying to secure the animals and was also taken to hospital.
• Officers were told the two dogs belonged to one of the men involved, and Penrith Council rangers assisted at the scene.
• The incident follows a separate fatal dog attack in Singleton earlier this month that heightened community concern.
