Overview

  • Two people lost their lives when a falling branch struck a 21-year-old woman in Paris and a tree collapsed on a 68-year-old man’s hunting lodge in Yvelines.
  • Six departments—Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin, Territoire de Belfort, Haute-Saône, Doubs and Jura—remain on orange alert for intense rain, hail and gusty winds.
  • The storms cut electricity to around 22,500 homes, with over half the outages in Dordogne and more than 2,800 customers still without power by midday Sunday.
  • Extensive damage was reported to infrastructure and agriculture, including a poultry farm destroyed in Chaumont-le-Bois and wind-ripped roofs on homes, churches and town halls.
  • Météo France forecasts the violent weather will ease by Monday as anticyclonic conditions return to the affected regions.
