Two Die After Car Leaves A167 and Crashes Onto BP Forecourt in Ferryhill

Police are appealing for dashcam footage to advance the collision investigation.

Overview

  • A single-vehicle collision around 1:40am on November 1 involved a Ford Ka that left the A167 at Ferryhill and came to rest on a BP petrol station forecourt.
  • An adult man and woman received medical assistance from officers and paramedics but were pronounced dead at the scene, and their families are being supported.
  • NEAS sent two ambulance crews, a clinical team leader and two HART units, with a GNAAS rapid response team on scene by 2:07am, and the fire service also attended.
  • The A167 was closed in both directions for several hours and reopened late morning, while the petrol station forecourt remains cordoned for investigators.
