Two Delhi Residents Held After Alleged Assault on Gurugram Police at DUI Checkpoint

A court has remanded them to judicial custody.

  • Officers requested car documents and a breathalyser test, but the two allegedly refused, withheld their identities and assaulted personnel on duty.
  • Police identified the suspects as Aryan Dua, 24, an engineer from Anand Vihar, and Vatsala Banerjee, 25, a graphics designer from CR Park in South Delhi.
  • Dua was driving a Skoda Rapid with Banerjee in the passenger seat after the two had visited a restaurant in Sector 56, police said.
  • They were detained and taken to Sector 56 police station, then booked for assaulting a public servant and obstructing officials from discharging duty, with the case account based on police statements reported by Hindustan Times.
