Two Deadly Shipwrecks Off Italy Leave Over 60 Migrants Missing

Rescue efforts continue as Italian coastguard and NGOs respond to tragic incidents involving migrants from multiple countries.

At least 11 migrants confirmed dead, with over 60 missing after two shipwrecks near Lampedusa and Calabria.
German charity ResQship rescued 51 people from a wooden boat but found 10 bodies trapped below deck.
A separate incident involved a sailboat from Turkey, with 12 survivors rescued and one dying shortly after disembarkation.
Migrants on these boats hailed from countries including Syria, Egypt, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iran, and Afghanistan.
