Two Dead in Chicago’s South Shore and Back of the Yards Shootings
Investigators have asked residents to share anonymous tips following two deadly shootings on the South Side.

- At about 6:23 p.m. on June 7, a 35-year-old man was found slumped over the wheel of his car on the 2000 block of East 79th Street in South Shore and died at the hospital, while a 4-year-old boy inside the vehicle escaped injury.
- Around 8:05 p.m. on June 8, three unidentified suspects in a dark sedan opened fire on two men exiting a business on the 5400 block of South Damen Avenue in Back of the Yards, killing a 69-year-old and wounding a 51-year-old.
- Area Two detectives have classified both events as homicides and have no suspect descriptions or arrests to release.
