Overview
- Michigan State Police responded around 7:30 p.m. Friday to Michigan Avenue at Willow Road, where three vehicles and a semi-truck collided.
- Troopers report the westbound Dodge Ram tried to pass a Volvo semi, hit an eastbound Jeep Cherokee, sideswiped the semi, then crashed head-on into a Chevrolet Silverado.
- The Ram’s 56-year-old Brooklyn driver and the Silverado’s 43-year-old Osseo driver died at the scene, with CBS Detroit reporting the latter was ejected.
- Local coverage identified the Silverado driver as Shane Burleson, and said his wife Chrissy was extricated and flown by University of Michigan Survival Flight to UM Hospital in critical condition.
- The Jeep driver, a 36-year-old Tecumseh woman, remains in critical condition, her 5-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son suffered minor injuries, and police say alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors as the investigation continues.
